How to reorder PDF pages
Reordering PDF pages means changing the order in which they appear in the document. On BestPDFInTheWorld it takes four steps: open the file, see the pages as numbered thumbnails, put them in the order you want and download the result. You can drag the cards, use the buttons on each thumbnail, navigate everything by keyboard or type the order by hand, with numbers and ranges like 5-8 or 10-1 to reverse. Everything runs in your browser, the file never leaves your computer, and pages are not recompressed, so the final quality matches the originals. This tool is part of the Premium subscription, EUR 1.99 a month, which removes the limits on every tool and adds OCR. Sign PDF opens on the free plan, with one signature a day.

- Three ways to reorder: drag the cards, use the buttons on each thumbnail (they work by touch) or type the order by hand, with ranges like 5-8 or 10-1 to reverse.

How to reorder PDF pages, step by step
Changing the page order of a PDF takes under a minute:
- Open the Reorder pages tool.
- Drag the PDF into the window, or click to pick it. The grid draws one thumbnail per page, numbered by its current position.
- Put the pages in order: drag the cards, use the two buttons on each one to move it back and forward, or type the order by hand in the field below the grid.
- Press the reorder button and download the new PDF, with the pages in the order left on screen.
Nothing to install, no account and no upload wait. The processing runs in your browser, and pages are not recompressed, so the final quality matches the original files.
Typing the order: ranges, reversals and repeats
Below the grid there is a field where you can type the order directly, with numbers and ranges. In a ten page document, typing 10-1 reverses it completely; 5-8 brings pages five to eight in that order. You can even repeat pages: 1,1,2 duplicates the first one in the result, useful for cases like repeating a cover or a separator sheet.
An empty order is rejected on purpose: handing back an identical document would be indistinguishable from a broken tool, you would download it, open it, see the same thing, and not know whether you were ignored or something went wrong. If you type something invalid, the tool refuses with a message that says the cause: a page that does not exist, characters that are neither numbers nor ranges, or an order so long it asks for tens of thousands of pages before any file is built.
Tips for reordering pages
- You do not have to drag. Every thumbnail carries two buttons, one to move it back and one to move it forward, and they work by touch just as on a computer. The whole grid is keyboard navigable: focus follows the card that moved, so you never lose sight of the page you are shifting. Dragging is the fastest way with a mouse, not the only way.
- Above 200 pages, the grid swaps thumbnails for numbers. The images go away, each thumbnail is around 130 KB once decoded, and two hundred of them is close to 25 MB of images alone, but buttons, dragging and keyboard all keep working, and the reordering does exactly the same job. The hard ceiling is 5000 pages.
- Pages you remove from the list do not go into the final file. The tool shows a permanent warning at the top listing which pages will be left out, and there is a button to restore the original order at any time. It is deliberate: without it there would be no way to drop a page here.
- Bookmarks and internal links may go stale. Those that point at specific pages may stop pointing at the right place once the order changes, a limitation of building the new document from the pages, shared by this whole family of tools, not just this one.
- It works offline. Once the page has loaded once, you can reorder with the network off, thumbnails are drawn on your computer and no page is sent to a server. If you need to remove pages rather than move them, use the Delete pages tool; to create a new PDF with just a set of pages, use Split and extract.

Questions about reordering pages.
Does reordering PDF pages lose quality?
No. Pages are copied into the new document without being recompressed, so text and images stay exactly as they were in the source files.
Is reordering PDF pages free?
No. This tool is part of the Premium subscription, EUR 1.99 a month, which removes the limits on every tool and adds OCR. Sign PDF opens on the free plan, with one signature a day.
Are my files kept on your servers?
No. Nothing is sent to a server: thumbnails are drawn on your computer and the reordering runs in the browser, start to finish. If you need to repeat the job, open the original file again.
Do I really have to drag the pages?
No. Every thumbnail carries two buttons, one to move it back and one to move it forward, and they work by touch just as on a computer. The whole grid is keyboard navigable, focus follows the card that moved, and you can also type the order by hand in the field below the grid. Dragging is the fastest way with a mouse, not the only way.
Can I repeat a page or reverse the whole document?
Yes, by typing the order by hand. Typing 1,1,2 duplicates page 1 in the result, useful for repeating a cover or a separator sheet. In a ten page document, typing 10-1 reverses it completely, and normal ranges work too: 5-8 brings pages five to eight.
How many pages can the tool take?
Up to 200 pages with thumbnails; above that the grid shows just the page numbers set large, and buttons, dragging and keyboard all keep working. The hard ceiling is 5000 pages: beyond that the tool refuses.
What happens to pages I remove from the list?
They do not go into the final file. The tool shows a permanent warning at the top listing which pages will be left out, and there is a button to restore the original order at any time.
