How do I specify the pages I want to extract?
In the pages field, type single numbers and ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3, 5, 8. The tool reads that as pages 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
Does splitting a PDF create several files or just one?
It creates a single new PDF, with all the chosen pages inside it. This tool does not split each page into its own file: it gathers the selection into one document.
Does the original file get changed?
No. The original PDF stays untouched on your computer. The result is a new, independent file, with only the pages you specified.
Is splitting and extracting PDF free?
No. It is part of the Premium plan, 1.99 EUR a month, with the twelve tools and no limits. The only free tool is Compress PDF, up to 10 MB, five times a day. Competitors like iLovePDF and PDF24 give this feature away for free: our argument is local processing at a fixed low price, not being cheaper than free.

Is there a size limit for the PDF to split?
There is no artificial limit set by us. The only practical limit is your browser's memory.
