Does the tool change my PDF?
No. It only reads, like the Extract text tool: the file on your computer is untouched, and nothing is written over it. If you want to change the title or the author, the tool for that is Edit metadata.
Which tool can I try without paying?

How do I know if my PDF is a scan?
The report answers that directly. A PDF with real text has a selectable text layer; a scan is a picture of the page, and the text you see is not text to the computer. That changes everything you can do next: no searching, no copying, and no useful conversion to Word.
What does it mean for a font not to be embedded?
It means the file relies on whoever opens it having that font installed. If they do not, the reader substitutes another one, and the document changes appearance, sometimes with text moving around. It is the most common reason a PDF looks different on another computer.
I opened a protected PDF and the report came back almost empty.
That is expected, and the report says why. In an encrypted PDF the content and the metadata are locked behind the password, so there is no way to analyse the text or read the title without it. What can still be said in that case is that the file is encrypted, how many pages it has and how much space it takes.
The report says some streams could not be read.
Some PDFs store content compressed in ways this tool does not decompress. Rather than guessing, the report counts how many were left unread and says the answer about text may be incomplete.
Why is the list of page sizes grouped?
Because one line per page would be unreadable in a two hundred page document. The report groups identical formats and names them where it recognises them (A4, Letter, Legal). A portrait sheet and the same sheet in landscape appear as two groups, because orientation is part of what you want to know about a document. The format NAME (A4, Letter) is the same for both.
Can I rely on this report for a legal or archival question?
Treat it as a first look, not a forensic report. The tool reads what the file declares about itself, and a file can declare wrong things. For questions that depend on formal rigour, a dedicated analysis is needed.
